The success of rhinoplasty is not determined only in the operating room. Recovery care helps the new nasal shape settle, controls swelling, and protects breathing function.
First days
Keep the head elevated, rest, and use cold application only as recommended. Mild swelling, pressure, and congestion are normal.
Sleep and protection
Avoid sleeping face down or putting pressure on the nose. Protect the nose from impact and do not wear glasses unless your surgeon allows it.
Activity
Walking is usually encouraged, but heavy exercise, bending, lifting, and contact sports should wait until cleared by the surgeon.
Nose care
Do not pick inside the nose or blow forcefully. Use saline and prescribed care products as instructed.
Bottom line
Good aftercare is a quiet but powerful part of a natural, stable rhinoplasty result.
